    $200 million expansion of an API facility.
    Expanding roles!

    Looking back at the early days of HBW, it is astonishing to see what we have built. August 4th, 2014 stands out as a special day in HBW history. It was the starting day for our first three employees! Now we have around 30 employees and are working.

    HBW’s initial project was a $200 Million. It was a $200 million facility expansion/retrofit that four of our current employees participated in the design of. This facility makes approximately 80% of the client’s flagship drug, worth over $2 billion annually in sales. We had to meet the client’s schedule window which was based on remaining drug stock and their ability to manufacture in a sister facility. Needless to say, there was a lot of pressure in this project. Our team was up for the challenge and our client was back to serving their patients seamlessly with the project time line being met.

    This project allowed our team to expand its capabilities in a short time. During the project, our team:

    Executed the start-up, commissioning and qualification of 86 CIP circuits within a 3 month window.

    Executed start-up for chromatography column operations.

    Managed facility piping passivation.

    • Created passivation bid packages. Passivation was divided by system, with each system having a separate bid process between three vendors.
    • Verification of construction turnover packages to be completed prior to starting passivation.
    • Organized the passivation plans for the vendor.
    • Verified passivation setup for each system
    • Readied finished passivation packages for turnover to validation.

    Wrote test protocols for and executed riboflavin testing for all new or modified vessels.

    Assisted with validation of equipment vendor turnover packages.
